USPS Ends Saturday Letter Service – Weekend Package Delivery Will Continue
No more Saturday mail delivery for the U.S. Postal Service.
Financial struggles have forced the government to discontinue weekend delivery of letters, however package delivery will continue six days a week.
The move is estimated to save the postal service $2 billion per year.
Sources say the USPS has seen an increase in package mail over the last few years – 14% since 2010 – while letters and other forms of mail have declined substantially with the growing use of the internet.
